A Winter Snow Backdrop in North Lake Tahoe
A rare glance at snow backdrop – blanketed shores in North Lake Tahoe in the Nevada side, it’s often full of photographers waiting to get a decent sunset shot. It’s worth a visit during winter because it’s not as busy. Read my guide: The Best Photo Locations in Lake Tahoe, to find this spot and some other just like it in both the California and Nevada side.
Leave only footprints and tripod marks, please! Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places on Earth and it should be kept that way for the next generations to come.
If you have an AWD vehicle you’re good to go, otherwise, you’ll need a chain as Highway 28 gets a lot of snow. You will need a good tripod, a good camera, and definitely a polarizer to get the most of any sunset scenes here. If you’re here for Instagram photos, read my Instagram Photography Guide.
