If there’s one place more than any other where you can have an amazing vacation you’re never going to forget, it’s the West Coast. It has all the sun, sand, and sea you could ever want, from the famous metropolises in California to the sprawling magnificence of Disney World, and then to the National Parks, everybody wants to take a hike through! If you want to cross some more points off of your bucket list, or even add to it, this is a great place to start.
So without further ado, here are a few reasons as to why the West Coast of America is going to give you a vacation you’re never going to forget.
It’s a Cultural Capital
When it comes to finding a hot spot full of celebrities, big brands, billboards, and the tinge of fame in the air, there’s no better place to come across than California. Its capital city of Sacramento may be a small city at heart, hosting a good amount of history and heritage inside it, but it has a long legacy and is surrounded by some of the most famous towns and sprawling metropolises you’re ever going to see.
Take the most famous city we can all think of when asked about California: Los Angeles. It has high house prices, famous beaches, and boulevards, and the Santa Monica pier itself is a popular date spot for young couples the world over. After all, everyone has wanted to head to Hollywood at some point in their life, and whilst there are lots to do in L.A, it never seems to be beaten off of the average traveler’s top spot.
On the other hand, you have the city of Seattle, a bustling business city with university students all around, and some famous movies to celebrate its name to boot. You can even see the Space Needle here, 605 feet tall and provide an amazing (and rotating) view of the rest of the city. You can even see the sun rise and set if you hit it at the right time, and that’s a view everybody wants to be on the lookout for. Take a breath and a panoramic shot of all the culture on offer underneath you!
Now that’s a view you’d climb a thousand stairs for!
STAY LIKE A LOCAL! |
---|
Do you want to know how to make travel (especially long-term) interesting? Stay like a local! To experience a place like a local rather than a tourist gives a whole new dimension to any adventure. I use Airbnb to rent anything from a room to an entire house. If that's not attractive enough, how about $55 off your first stay via Airbnb?

It Has Some Amazing Natural Landscapes
The West Coast of America of demands you go a little more inland to see some of the best natural landscapes you’ll ever set eyes on. These include the Mojave Desert and Death Valley, as well as the Muir Woods if you get a little scorched out under the constant sun. After all, if you’re headed where the sun never seems to stop, and the cloud cover is low to minimal, you’re going to want the respite some tall trees and canopy shades offer you.
Death Valley itself is a great place to go on a road trip; it’s possible to even cruise through the National Park itself in only a day! Get there early for the best start and stick the air conditioning on if the opening the window is too noisy for you. Pack plenty of water in the back and make sure you have a cooler with you, as Death Valley isn’t joking about its name!
Once you’ve had your fill of barren landscapes, and want to see something that has a little more water to it, head over to Lake Tahoe. You can head here anytime you want to, as the Summer and Winter have different activities for you to do; similarly, you can head South or North depending on what you most want to see. Just check out the webcams for a quick snapshot of the views on offer here!

Imagine driving your way down here, breeze in your hair and sunglasses out!
There are Some Magical Hiking Trails
If you’re more of an active person, going for a hike when you’re on holiday is going to be the best experience for your time and money. Head up to Oregon for the most wonderful woodland wonderlands due to the rural nature of the entire state, and all the natural falls, caves, and forests for you to get yourself lost in. Take a compass and the GPS on your phone just in case! But don’t worry about this too much, you’ll have a park ranger nearby if you really need the help.
Some of the best trails are going to be hard to find, so ask around and be sure you know what you’re looking for before you set off. After all, you don’t want to find yourself stuck on the wrong side of a ravine or deep in woodlands with plenty of wildlife on the prowl… All in all, if you stick to the trails you’re going to be very safe and happy to sit down with your flask and dehydrated food you stuffed your backpack full of.

That night time view of the Seattle Space Needle… isn’t that the view from Frasier’s apartment?
It’s just off Queen Anne – Kerry Park :)
Wow! now i know that the West coast has a lot more to offer than plain old LA and Vegas. I have also been to parts of the West coast such as LA and Vegas, but my trip was nothing compared to yours. I really like the content you have put out, as it caters to both, the adventure seekers and those who like the city type vibe. Great pictures and content! Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
